In 1998 Choepel Rinpoche arrived in India and studied at Drepung Gomang Monastery university by direct guidance of His Eminece Khen Rinpoche and Jetsuen Lobsang Gyaltsen. Since he enrolled in the university, he had been the no.1 student in the class until he finished the master degree of Logic in 2000, Prajñā Pāramitā 2006, Madhyamaka 2009, and finally received the title of Geshe in the year of 2016.

 

For many year Choepel Rinpoche recieved various Buddhist teachings from His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama, His Holiness Kathok Getse Mahapandita Rinpoche, His Holiness Sakya Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, His Holiness Dungsey Garab Rinpoche, His Holiness Taklung Matul Rinpoche, His Eminence Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche and other great masters of different tradition.

 

With permission by His Holiness Dungsey Garab Rinpoche in 2019, Choepel Rinpoche made groups of practitioners in Tso Pema, Manali and Ladakh and is conducting Dudjom Tröma activities 25th day of every month.

 

Currently Choepel Rinpoche resides mainly in Leh, Ladakh, India. He has a construction project of Urgen Gepelling monastery which includes library and class rooms for the students of Lamstan Model Public School Ladakh-Leh.

 

Choepel Rinpoche is also involved in activities such as preserving Himalayan culture, protecting environment and so on through Choepel Rinpoche's Welfare Association.
